GSMS PhD Scholarships (3-year scholarship)
Did you finish a master’s programme in the field of health or biomedical sciences and did you perform (part of) your master research project at the University Medical Center Groningen? Do you want to continue working in research? The 2018 application for the GSMS PhD Scholarships is open now!
You can write your own PhD research proposal if your previous UMCG supervisor is willing to supervise your PhD project.
The application for this three-year scholarship involves a two-step procedure. Candidates need to pre-register before July 9th. Eligibility will be judged on the basis of a CV, grades, a letter of motivation, a short summary of the project proposal and a letter of recommendation by a Principal Investigator (PI) who recommends the student for participation and is willing to act as supervisor for the PhD project. Pre-registered students will be allowed to write and submit a PhD research proposal under supervision of the involved PI. The topic of the PhD proposal should match the goals of one of the research programmes of the UMCG. Instructions for application can be downloaded here.
The evaluation committee will rank the eligible proposals on the basis of the proposal, rebuttal and presentation, and will award a maximum of 7 PhD scholarships to the highest ranking applicants.
